About LANDFRAME
Our Story
The Page Indigenous Land Acknowledgement Tool (PILAT) is an initiative of The Page Southerland Page Foundation. PILAT promotes inclusiveness and honors the cultural and ecological knowledge of Indigenous communities in planning and design.
To advance this mission, Page, now Stantec, developed LANDFRAME, a digital platform that provides tools and guidance for respectful, informed engagement with land. While developed primarily for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, LANDFRAME serves the broader purpose of integrating Indigenous land awareness into the design process.
At the center of the platform is an interactive mapping tool that provides site-specific tribal land data to inform land acknowledgments and project context. The tool is free to use, and, in turn, users are encouraged to support a scholarship fund for Indigenous students pursuing careers in architecture, planning, and design. The fund is managed in partnership with the Indigenous Society of Architecture, Planning, and Design (ISAPD).

The LANDFRAME initiative is shaped through collaboration with a wide network of Indigenous and ally-led nonprofits, academic institutions, foundations, professional organizations, and individuals, united in their commitment to centering Indigenous land relationships across the built environment, public spaces, and cultural landscapes.
